KCRW's Left Right & Center pre-show note 8.22.08

Lawrence O'Donnell is sitting in today for Matt Miller. He's a very experienced political hand and I asked him, what exactly is Obama waiting for in making the VP announcement on a Saturday. He told me he thought Obama would announce on Wed., in time to hit the cover of Time, but on Saturday, Newsweek will still hold a cover, and he gets the double hit of being on the front page of every major Sunday newspaper with photos, etc. We'll probably hear some of this on today's show, but I thought I'd tip you off to this interesting conversation in advance of the show.
